When you think of ocean farming, you probably picture fish being gathered on the coast, but what about seaweed?

Seaweed farming is nonexistent in Texas waters, but not for long! The University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas is starting a project to test the feasibility of seaweed farming in our coastal waters. This will open up many opportunities, from research to job creation to revenue generation, and potentially address our environmental challenges in the Gulf of Mexico.
