Opportunities to Enjoy the Coastal Bend

This week’s article is focusing on two festivals that will be coming up in our area. This month features the festivities in our area known as Taste of Port A and the South Texas Underground Film Festival. This is a fantastic start to an entertaining group of civic events that occur in the Coastal Bend. Economic development and activity are important issues, and events such as these helps showcase not only Corpus Christi and Port Aransas but also our beautiful coastal area. This group of events allows many local artists the opportunity to display their work for the public to see and enjoy. Additionally, this creates a fun and entertaining experience for those who are living in or just visiting the Coastal Bend. Both festivals offer many activities and attractions for the public and can be a great way to spend some time seeing our local talented artists and their work, including the ability to enjoy food.

The Taste of Port A will be held on Monday, January 27th, and Wednesday, January 29th at 5-7:30 pm each night. The two-night celebration will allow for participants to enjoy unique flavors of Port Aransas. This will feature menu samples from 24 restaurants around Port Aransas. Tickets can be purchased online and picked up later. The tickets will cover each night of the festival. For more information please visit the Taste of Port A.

This month will also be the South Texas Underground Film Festival. This festival will be held from January 23-26 at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 7601 S. Staples St., Corpus Christi, TX, 78413. South Texas Underground Film is an official Texas non-profit organization whose sole mission is to engage and inspire the community by screening incredibly independent films, teaching the art of filmmaking and networking & creating new projects with fellow artists. South Texas Underground Film Festival is an international festival that is a public platform that gives a voice to great independent artists. There is also an opportunity to volunteer during the festival For more information about the festival visit the South Texas Underground Film Festival (STUFF).
