Representative Hunter files Cruise Ship Industry, Human Trafficking and Desalinization Bills

AUSTIN — Yesterday, State Representative Todd Hunter (District 32 – Corpus Christi) filed three bills which would create legislative studies on important issues regarding the Cruise Ship Industry, Human Trafficking and water desalinization.

“These bills will bring to our area the study and review of important matters that we can take the lead,” said Hunter.

HB 56 Requests that the Lt. Gov. and the Speaker of the House create a Joint Interim committee to study the development of the Cruise industry on the Texas Coast between Calhoun and Cameron Counties. In addition it allows the committee to look at possible incentives for the Cruise industry.
HB 57 Requests that the Lt. Gov. and the Speaker of the House create a Joint Interim committee to study the problem of human trafficking in Texas.
HB 59 Requests that the Lt. Gov. and the Speaker of the Texas House create a Joint Interim Committee to study saltwater desalinization on the Texas Coast.

“These three bills will allow the Coastal Bend to take leadership on the development of these important issues,” added Hunter.

Representative Hunter serves on Calendars, County Affairs, General Investigating & Ethics, Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence and Redistricting. Hunter represents Nueces County.
